Rootwork refers generally to any form of folk magic placed through the use of ritual objects. This spans across multiple magical traditions. Voodoo has rootwork, but rootwork is not exclusive to Voodoo. The removal of rootwork involves undoing the spiritual power of the associated object or object-driven spell.

Fixes refer to a subtype of rootwork, as well as any form of binding. To undo a fix is to undo a specific type of negative spell or curse, or a binding of any type, upon you.
